Another Kind of Love

I just wanted to tell you about another member of my family that I neglected to mention in my profile.  It is my little shih tzu Mia.  She is about 9 months old and a precious little puppy.  These pictures are when she was only 2 months old.  We have had dogs almost all our married life and I don't know what it would be like without one.  Our sweet little Dallas (another shih tzu) who we had for 16 years passed away last year.  She had kidney problems that went on for a few years but finally took her in the end.  She had 3 litters of puppies in her early years and made the best mommy ever.  We loved her with all our hearts.  When she was gone, our house was so empty and lonely for the love of a dog.  We thought we were done raising puppies but lo and behold, we couldn't stand the emptiness that only a puppy can fill so we went ahead and got Mia.

What a little doll she is. She had beautiful blue eyes when we got her but now they are almost brown sort of a hazel color.  She has grown to about 9 pounds and will stay small.  She loves to play with a tennis ball and will actually move it with her nose so you can play with her.  She is now almost all white and has the softest fur.  She hates the bath though, usually likes to fight me but I'm bigger than her, I think she forgets that.    She is so much fun and as you can see my granddaughter Hannah loves her too.  Maybe someday Mia will be a mommy and Hannah will get to have one of her puppies, I know that is what Hannah is thinking about everytime she sees her.

There are different kinds of love in this world all special and unique.  I hope you are fortunate enough to experience many of them.  The love of an animal is unconditional, no strings attached.  All they want is some attention and in return you get so much more.

Hugs
Kathy
